Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows 11th and 12th grade students to earn college credits while in high school. PSEO courses can be taken in a traditional college classroom as well as online through the college of your choosing. They are taught, graded, and monitored by college faculty, NOT Verndale teachers. The tuition and textbook fees for these courses are paid for by the school district, there is no cost to students.

Each college and university sets their own eligibility requirements for PSEO programs. Students must meet those eligibility requirements by the end of the previous semester in order to be eligible for the next semester courses.

To assist with course planning and meeting eligibility requirements, students must inform the school counselor promptly if they wish to participate in a PSEO program.

Each college and university sets their own eligibility requirements for PSEO programs. However, there are generally two requirements that students must meet. First, student’s cumulative GPA, which is taken from the last completed semester. Second, Accuplacer testing scores in reading and math. For general admittance into the PSEO program, students must obtain a 78 in reading. Admissions requirements for specific colleges and universities can be found on their school website.
